What to Expect

Rustic Line

Our goal is to know your pets on a first-name basis.

At Animal Hospital, we make every effort to ensure that your pet is comfortable and feels loved at our practice. At our clinic, you can expect yearly check-ups for your pet, at which time our team will not only assess your pet’s health, but can also provide valuable information on such topics as proper nutrition, parasite prevention, behavioral recommendations, as well as providing answers to any questions you may have. To get started with us, please schedule an appointment online and fill out our New Client Forms (link), which will expedite your check-in process. When you arrive, we’ll get you checked in and you will receive a new patient goodie bag. We look forward to meeting you and your furry friend(s).

Surgery Preparation:

Your doctor will advise you on specific directions to prep your pet for surgery but generally, we advise no food past 10 pm the evening prior. Please arrive at the practice by 8:30 am on the day of the surgery. After the procedure, your doctor will call you to discuss the surgery and will let you know the details of after-care. Most patients will go home towards the end of the day.

Boarding/Grooming:

We welcome your pet to our boarding and grooming facilities! All Patients need to be up-to-date on their vaccines. For boarding, you may bring food and blankets for your pet, but we provide them as well. In addition, we use Hill’s Science Diet food for our boarders.

Appointment Policy:

To optimize our efficiency and reduce client waiting times, we prefer to operate primarily by appointment. Our veterinarians and technicians rotate between scheduled surgical procedures and exams. Emergency cases receive top priority, thus making occasional appointment delays inevitable. Please understand we do our best to see each patient on time.

Drop Off Appointments:

A “drop-off” appointment means you can bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for several hours. Usually, we will ask you to drop off as early in the day as you can so our doctors can examine the patient in between appointments or at other designated times. The veterinarian will then give the client a call to go over any test results as well as the diagnosis and provide discharge instructions.

Drop-off appointments may be requested by the pet owner to maximize his/her time or suggested by the staff if all appointments are filled for the day and the pet owner is wanting his animal evaluated or treated the same day.

Patient Arrival Policy:

For the safety of all pets, staff and pet owners, we ask that all animals be properly restrained upon entering the hospital. Dogs and cats must be on a leash or in a carrier while in the waiting room and in the exam room, unless otherwise instructed by staff. It is not uncommon for pets to be uncomfortable in a new setting or around unfamiliar animals, so we want to make this a positive experience for them, while keeping everyone safe. If the pet owner has difficulty managing his/her pet or needs assistance loading or unloading, please do not hesitate to ask our Animal Clinic staff for assistance.
